Yesterday I was blogging about Thanksgiving and today I’m blogging about Christmas. As I said yesterday, this time of year is packed full of events and if you’re not planning ahead you’ll quickly find yourself behind. And that’s why I’m blogging about Christmas at the beginning of November. Planning ahead. Today I’m going to share with you the cutest Christmas Noun Sort that you can use with your students for review or practice. And I know you’re not supposed to say resources are cute anymore, but this one just is! 😀
Oh, and I’ll also share some links for other Christmas resources as well.
Christmas Noun Sort
This activity was designed to be used in the pocketchart. I love pocketcharts and had a classroom full of them. But if you’re not sold on them, take a peek at this link on some reasons for using them and how I used them in my classroom: Halloween Noun Sort
However, the Christmas Noun Sort can be used on the floor or a magnetic surface (with magnets) if you choose.
Students sort the 30 Christmas theme noun cards into Person, Place, Thing, or Animal.
To keep them accountable for their work, there are 4 different student response sheet formats to choose from …. ranging from pictures to reading the words.
And lastly, there’s a follow-up sorting activity with 2 formats to check to see if they understand the concept. It can be used as independent work, in a Center, for early/fast finishers, as an assessment, or homework.
If you like this activity as much as I do 😉 and you want to use it in your classroom, click below to purchase. I think your students will have fun learning with this resource.
