Y’all, I wish I had thought to take a photo of this wreath before I did this fall wreath makeover! It was horrible!
It wasn’t horrible because someone had done a bad job. It was horrible because it was old. And weather beaten. And covered in spider webs and dead bugs from hanging in my garage.
At one time it was cute. I actually purchased it at Cracker Barrel years ago. At that time it had wild flowers in it. Then a couple of years later I added sunflowers to it and tied a red bandana where the bow’s at now. It was so cute and perfect for my cowboy themed Bunco. But after hanging in my garage for years it was definitely at the end of it’s time.
This photo is from my Cowboy themed Bunco in 2011! I knew the wreath was old, but WOW!
Fast forward to last weekend when I started decorating for fall. I needed a new fall wreath for my door. I didn’t have time to start shopping for one so I looked to see if I had anything that I could use to improvise with when I noticed the sad basket wreath.
I keep flowers on hand to decorate with, so I just needed to make sure I had what I needed to make the old wreath come back to life. And I had the perfect blooms.
So I tore out all the old flowers and put in the new flowers. (All from Hobby Lobby)
It had to have a bow. And it seems like I now have rolls and rolls of burlap ribbon, even though it wasn’t exactly the kind I wanted.
The fall ribbon was the one and only roll of fall ribbon that I had … which I don’t remember ever seeing or buying.
With just that little bit of effort, the fall wreath makeover was complete and I love how it turned out! Even though it’s not large, it shows up well on my door. I’m glad I could repurpose this wreath because I love the basket part of it and the fact that it cost me $0 makes it even better! 🙂 And I’m so glad that I never threw the old wreath away.
So if you have an old wreath that needs a makeover, check out what you have and see what you can do!
Happy Fall Y’all!
