October is Fire Safety month and I barely pulled off getting this activity completed before the month of October was over! 🙂 But here it is! A Fire Safety Response Stick and Pocketchart Sorting Activity.  With this Response Stick, you can quickly tell who, and how much, of your class understands about Fire Safety.
Fire Safety Student Response Stick and Pocketchart Sorting Activity
I never intended to do a Fire Safety activity, but the idea for this just popped into my head .. and such a cute idea it is. And Carol did an awesome job of creating the cutest little Fireman Dude for the kids to make their Response Sticks.
Ok, here it is … First, the kids make their Fireman Response Sticks by gluing the smiling fireman to one side of a wide craft stick and the frowning to the other. Then there’s a Teacher’s Fire Safety Statement Chart that the teacher reads from and the kids hold up either a smiling or frowning fireman. The teacher can quickly tell who has the concept. As she goes along, there are also matching pocketchart strips to use to discuss the answers and sort into the pocketchart. Afterwards, the pocketchart statements can be reviewed, removed, mixed up and sorted again.
Includes:
Student Blackline Fireman Response Stick
