While you’re reading this remember, I’m not a fan of chocolate and then read me writing … this is some SERIOUSLY GOOD Oreo Cake! 🙂 Oh my goodness! It is good! The best review came from my 3 year old grandson. As he ate each bite he said, “Yum!” Now that’s seriously good!
Seriously Good Oreo Cake
I found this recipe on Pinterest while hunting for an Easter dessert that would satisfy the tastes of most of my family. Chocolate is the one thing that pretty much covers all those bases and Oreos is the other, so this dessert was perfect. It was fairly easy to make and the only modification that I made was in using wax paper to line the springform pan instead of parchment paper. The wax paper worked wonderfully. I have yet to purchase that box of parchment paper. 🙂 Oh, and I did forget to add the chocolate sauce to the top of the cake. But, personally, I don’t think that would have made it a bit better. It was perfection as is.
I don’t know if I can put into words what made this Oreo Cake so serisously good. It was light and creamy and cool and a little chocolatey and yummy and sweet and just perfect! As I look back at the photo on the blog of the original recipe, mine is not nearly as pretty, but I don’t see how Julianne’s could taste any better. I just don’t! 🙂
On a side note, I’m saving this recipe for the whipped topping separately. It’s what made the whole cake. It was soooo good! I’ve made homemade whipped topping before and it tasted nothing like this. This topping was fabulous. Even my husband commented on how good it was.
The recipe for the Oreo Cake says you can freeze the cake, however I did not. It didn’t last long enough. But I can see where you could, minus the topping or maybe even with. After all, you can freeze Cool Whip.
So if you like chocolate and Oreos, you have to try this Oreo Cake. And even if you can take them or leave them like me, you might want to give it a try anyway … especially if you’re doing it for a special occasion like I did. You might just be surprised. This is a recipe I definitely recommend!
